Monitor Problems Blank screen. Only the cursor appears. Wrong characters appear on the screen. Action Verify that: 1. The computer power cord is plugged into the computer and a working electrical outlet. 2. The monitor is turned on and the Brightness and Contrast controls are adjusted correctly. 3. The monitor signal cable is securely connected to the monitor and the monitor connector on the computer. For the location of the monitor connector, see "Desktop Model Connectivity" on page 13. If the problem cannot be isolated and corrected, have the monitor and computer serviced. Have the computer serviced. Have the computer serviced. General Problems The computer does not start when you press the power switch. Problems such as a broken cover lock or indicator lights not working. Action Verify that: 1. The computer power cord is plugged into the computer and a working electrical outlet. 2. All cables are securely connected to the proper connectors on the computer. For the location of the connectors, refer to "Desktop Model Connectivity" on page 13. 3. The voltage-selection switch is set to the correct position.
