Cleaning the automatic document feeder The scanner parts can become contaminated with ink, toner particles, or paper coatings. Clean the scanner feed rollers if documents do not feed smoothly or easily, or if several documents feed at one time. 1 Turn off and disconnect the power to the scanner. 2 Open the automatic document feeder. Feed rollers 3 Wet a clean, lint-free cloth or cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol (95%). 4 Wipe the feed rollers by moving the swab from side to side. 5 Rotate the roller forward with your finger and repeat step 4 until the entire roller is cleaned. 6 Close the automatic document feeder. 7 Reconnect the power and turn the scanner back on. Cleaning the

The scanner parts can become contaminated with ink, toner particles,
or paper coatings. Clean the scanner feed rollers if documents do not
feed smoothly or easily, or if several documents feed at one time.

Turn off and disconnect the power to the scanner.

Open the automatic document feeder.

Wet a clean, lint-free cloth or cotton swab with isopropyl
alcohol (95%).

Wipe the feed rollers by moving the swab from side to side.

Rotate the roller forward with your finger and repeat step 4 until
the entire roller is cleaned.

Close the automatic document feeder.
