The counter time will not change on a blank tape or blank portions on a tape. The "-" before the tape counter indicates the amount of remaining recording/playing time before the counter reaches 0. Follow the steps below to reset the tape counter to 0 at a tape location you want to refer to later. 2-3 1 Play, rewind or fast forward the tape to the location you would like to refer to later. Press STOP C to stop the tape. 1 2 Press CLEAR once to display the tape counter on the TV screen. 3 Press CLEAR one more time to set the counter to 0:00:00. 4 To return to this same point later, press SET-UP. Press ▲ or ▼ to select ZERO RETURN. Then, press ENTER. The tape counter will appear on the screen. When the tape reaches the point at which you set the counter to 0, the tape will stop. Sleep information will appear at the button of the TV screen. Press s or B to change the amount of time until shut down. Each press of B will increase the time by 30 minutes. You may set the Sleep Timer of 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes. After 5 seconds, the Sleep Timer information will disappear from the screen.The TV/VCR/DVD will turn itself off after the selected amount of time has passed.
