Power Management ReadyNAS 2100 User Manual The ReadyNAS 2100 offers disk spin-down, power timer (time off/time on), UPS event, and wake-on-LAN power management options to reduce system power consumption, both while the system is in use and when it is not in use. Disk Spin-Down Option You can elect to spin down your ReadyNAS disks after a specified time of inactivity. The disks will spin up as needed. To enable spin-down mode, select the Enable disk spin-down after... check box, and specify the minutes of inactivity before spin up. Figure 5-3 Note: Enabling disk spin-down disables journal mode. Power Management
The ReadyNAS 2100 offers disk spin-down, power timer (time off/time on), UPS event, and
wake-on-LAN power management options to reduce system power consumption, both while the
system is in use and when it is not in use.
Disk Spin-Down Option
You can elect to spin down your ReadyNAS disks after a specified time of inactivity. The disks
will spin up as needed. To enable spin-down mode, select the
Enable disk spin-down after...
check box, and specify the minutes of inactivity before spin up.

Note:
Enabling disk spin-down disables journal mode. Once enabled, if you decide to
disable disk spin-down, you need to manually re-enable journal mode if desired.
