Common Operations Item Description Page < Flower mode For capturing brightly colored flowers. Reproduces the outline of the flower softly. - I Portrait mode For capturing portraits. To set the description not to display, see p.133. Face Recognition AF&AE In b (Auto Picture mode), R (Program mode), I (Portrait mode) and (Kids mode), "Face Recognition AF&AE" is activated. This function recognizes the subject's face, focuses, and performs exposure compensation when capturing images. The camera will recognize the main subject's face and make suitable adjustments automatically even when there are multiple faces. The subject is given a brighter and healthier look. • When the camera does not recognize the subject's face in R mode, I mode or mode, the camera will focus on the subject using the AF mode selected in [AF Mode] on the [A Rec. Mode] menu. • When the camera does not recognize the subject's face in b mode, the camera will focus on the subject using the standard AF Mode (Multiple). You cannot change to other AF modes on the [A Rec. Mode] menu. • The Face Recognition may not work if the subject is wearing sunglasses, has part of the face covered, or is not looking toward the camera. 46
