N Needle thread tension 39 A = setting mark Important! In order to obtain good sewing results it is important to check the following: 1. that the needle is in good order, 2. and the needle- or bobbin thread tension is correct. The bobbin thread tension is adjusted correctly at the works. If on sion checking the bobbin thread ten (see page 16) you find it is neces sary to correct it, turn the adjusting screw by small amounts only. Checking the needle The normal setting is thread from 3 tension: to 5. The higher the number, the tighter the thread tension. This is checked with a wide zigzag stitch (program 10). Sew a short seam. The thread interlace ,,hould lie exactly between the two material plies. Range 3 is for buttonhole sewing. 25
