Troubleshooting If you have any trouble with the unit, read the instruction manual once more and check the following before requesting for repair. Symptom Cause and remedies The radio does not accept button operations. The power does not turn on when POWER ON/OFF is pressed. The display is not operating. The display is dim. The display is slow. There is no sound output. There is noise, bad reception or weak sensitivity. Cannot complete direct tuning. Cannot preset a station. Cannot recall a preset station. The HOLD function is activated. c Slide HOLD switch in the direction opposite the arrow (to disappear "-"). (page 32) Improper installation of batteries. Weak batteries. c Insert the batteries with correct polarity. Replace with new batteries. The AC power adaptor is disconnected. c Properly connect the AC power adaptor. Improper installation of batteries. c Insert the batteries with correct polarity. Weak batteries. c Replace with new batteries. The unit is being used in extremely low temperature or in high humidity. c Use the unit under appropriate conditions. The volume is turned down completely. c Adjust the volume. The headphones are plugged in. c Unplug the headphones. Improper installation of batteries. c Insert the batteries with correct polarity. Weak batteries. c Replace with new batteries. Improper tuning or antenna adjustment. c Adjust tuning and antenna properly. Weak radio signal. c Listen to the radio near a window when in a vehicle or building. ATT switch is set to ON. c Set ATT switch to OFF (page 21). You took more than 10 seconds between button operations. c Complete each button operation within 10 seconds. Incorrect procedure. c Hold down ENTER and press a number button (0-9) (page 22). You pressed an incorrect number button for the desired station. c Press the correct number.
