Table 58 Port Triggering: Configuration Add/Edit LABEL DESCRIPTION Active Service Name WAN Interface Trigger Start Port Select to enable or disable this rule. Enter a name to identify this rule using keyboard characters (A-Z, a-z, 1-2 and so on). Select a WAN interface for which you want to configure port triggering rules. The trigger port is a port (or a range of ports) that causes (or triggers) the VMG to record the IP address of the LAN computer that sent the traffic to a server on the WAN. Trigger End Port Trigger Protocol Open Start Port Type a port number or the starting port number in a range of port numbers. Type a port number or the ending port number in a range of port numbers. Select the transport layer protocol from TCP, or UDP. The open port is a port (or a range of ports) that a server on the WAN uses when it sends out a particular service. The VMG forwards the traffic with this port (or range of ports) to the client computer on the LAN that requested the service. Open End Port Open Protocol OK Cancel Type a port number or the starting port number in a range of port numbers. Type a port number or the ending port number in a range of port numbers. Select the transport layer protocol from TCP, or UDP. Click OK to save your changes. Click Cancel to exit this screen without saving. 11.5 DMZ DMZ allows other devices over the Internet to access a DMZ host device within your local network. DMZ, which stands for "DeMilitarized Zone", is a network between the WAN and the LAN that is open to the WAN but still has firewall protection. Devices on the WAN can initiate connections to devices on the DMZ but not to those on the LAN. You could put servers such as mail servers, HTTP/HTTPS web servers and FTP servers on the DMZ to provide services to hosts on the WAN as well as hosts on the LAN. DMZ
