Features and Controls 0 2 (Second Gear) - Press the clutch pedal as you let up on the accelerator pedal and shift into "2." Then, slowly let up on the clutch pedal as you press the accelerator pedal. 3,4,5 and 6 (Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Gears) - Shift into "3," "4," "5" and "6" the same way you do for "2." Slowly let up on the clutch pedal as you press the accelerator pedal. To Stop - Let up on the accelerator pedal and press the brake pedal. Just before the vehicle stops, press the clutch pedal and the brake pedal, and shift to "Neutral." Neutral - Use this positionwhen you start or idle your engine. R (Reverse)-To back up, press down the clutch pedal, andshift into "R." If the shift lever has a ring on it, you have to lift the ring before you can shift into "R" (Reverse). If you don't have the ring,just apply pressure to get the lever past "5" and "6" into "R" (Reverse). Let up on the clutch pedal slowly whilepressing the accelerator pedal.
