Carrying the maximum load allowed Your motorcycle is designed for long-distance riding with the maximum load allowed carried in full safety. Even weight distribution is critical to preserving these safety features and avoiding difficulties when performing sudden maneuvers or riding on bumpy roads. Attention Danger: the bike touches the ground earlier than expected. Consider the reduced lean angle and ground clearance of the Version with Lowered Riding Height. Motorcycle lower riding height is achieved through a reduction of the suspension travel. This could result in a limitation of the usual riding comfort. The rear shock absorber spring preload should be adjusted, especially when riding with a passenger and/or luggage. Attention Do not ride the motorcycle above 112 mph (180 km/h) when side panniers and top case are installed, and in any case ride within the speed limits prescribed by the law at all times. Information about carrying capacity Attention Do not exceed the total permitted weight for the motorcycle and pay attention to the information below regarding load capacity. Important Arrange your luggage or heavy accessories in the lowest possible position and close to motorcycle center. Important Never fix bulky or heavy objects to the steering head or front mudguard, as this would affect stability and be dangerous. 15
