Creating a Big/Fast RAID set for the first time 1. Set the EZ-Backup jumper mode. Refer to the jumper settings below for the respective RAID modes supported. If you do not change the jumper setting on first installation, the system applies the default RAID mode, which is RAID 1. Plug one end of the Serial ATA cable to the rear interface on each drive and plug the other end of the cable to the motherboard connectors labeled EZ_RAID1 and EZ_RAID2 (colored light orange). Refer to section "2.7.2 Internal connectors" for the location of the connectors. • For best results, use Serial ATA 3.0 Gb/s hard disk drives listed in the EZ‑Backup compatibility list. Visit the ASUS website at www.asus.com for details. • The total RAID disk volume size should be less than 2.1 Terabytes (TB). 3. Connect a Serial ATA power cable or a 4-pin legacy power connector from the power supply unit to the rear power connector on each drive. Creating a Big/Fast RAID set for the first time

Set the EZ-Backup jumper mode. Refer to the jumper settings below for the
respective RAID modes supported.
For best results, use Serial ATA 3.0 Gb/s hard disk drives listed in the
EZ-Backup compatibility list. Visit the ASUS website at www.asus.com for
details.
The total RAID disk volume size should be less than 2.1 Terabytes
(TB).
If you do not change the jumper setting on first installation, the system applies
the default RAID mode, which is RAID 1.
