When you are finished, change the Status to Enabled and then press APPLY to let your changes take effect. Configure Spanning Tree Protocol The Spanning Tree Algorithm Parameters can be used for creating alternative paths in your network. The Protocol Parameters allow you to change the behind the scene parameters of the Spanning Tree Algorithm at the bridge level. The parameters for this section have been fully explained in Chapter 5's "Switch Management Concepts." See STA Operation Levels: On the Bridge level, and User-Changeable Parameters. It is recommended that you read these sections, as well as the introductory section in the same chapter entitled Spanning Tree Algorithm before changing any of the parameters. To change the Protocol Parameters: 1. Choose Configure Spanning Tree Protocol from the System Configuration menu. The following Configure Spanning Tree Protocol menu will be displayed: Figure 6-15.
