The devices browse and retrieve the media from home PCs, other networked devices and from online services. DivX Connected Network This section describes the features of the DivX Connected Server and DivX Connected devices and what you need to set them up. What Is the DivX Connected Server? The DivX Connected Server provides the user experience and media to the DivX Connected device(s) on your network. The DivX Connected Server: • Performs PC-based media and device management, and • Provides the user interface (menus) and media to the device. The DivX Connected Server can run simultaneously on any number of computers in your network. DivX Connected devices can access any of these servers for media. When a DivX Connected device sends a request to the DivX Connected Server for a connection, a file, etc., the DivX Connected Server responds by accepting or denying the connection request, then sending a file or an error message. The DivX Connected Server also handles the more elaborate response to a DivX Connected device request for protected media, which requires a series of intricate validations to enable you to play back the media. What Is the DivX Connected Server?
The DivX Connected Server provides the user experience and media to the DivX Connected device(s) on
your network. The DivX Connected Server:
