Powering Up the S4820T Switch, Power Up Sequence

Dell Force10 recommends re-inspecting your system prior to powering up. Verify that: • Equipment is properly secured to the rack and properly grounded. • Equipment rack is properly mounted and grounded. • Ambient temperature around the unit (which may be higher than the room temperature) is within the limits specified for the S4820T. • There is sufficient airflow around the S4820T unit. • Input circuits are correctly sized for the loads and that you are using sufficient over-current protection devices. • All protective covers on the S4820T are in place. • Blank panels are installed over all openings in the S4820T chassis that would have contained optional modules. Power Up Sequence When the system powers up, the fans immediately come on at high speed. The fan speed slows as the system continues to boot up. The PWR LED blinks until the boot-up sequence is complete. When boot up is complete, the PWD LED becomes steadily lit. 32 | Installing the S4820T

Powering Up the S4820T Switch
Supply power to the S4820T after it is mounted in a rack or cabinet.
Dell Force10 recommends re-inspecting your system prior to powering up. Verify that:
Equipment is properly secured to the rack and properly grounded.
Equipment rack is properly mounted and grounded.
Ambient temperature around the unit (which may be higher than the room temperature) is within the
limits specified for the S4820T.
There is sufficient airflow around the S4820T unit.
