For example, if an interface is statically configured via the CLI to belong to a VLAN, it should not be un-configured when it receives a Leave PDU. So, the registration mode on that interface is FIXED. • Forbidden Mode: Disables the port to dynamically register VLANs, and to propagate VLAN information except information about VLAN 1. A port with forbidden registration type thus allows only VLAN 1 to pass through even though the PDU carries information for more VLANs.
