This command displays an ongoing list of the interface status (up/down), number of packets, traffic statistics, etc. Command Syntax monitor interface interface Command Mode EXEC Privilege Purpose View the interface's statistics. Enter the type of interface and slot/port information: • For a 10/100/1000 Ethernet interface, enter the keyword GigabitEthernet followed by the slot/port information. • For a Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword GigabitEthernet followed by the slot/port information. • For the Management interface on the RPM, enter the keyword ManagementEthernet followed by the slot/ port information. • For a SONET interface, enter the keyword sonet followed by slot/port information. • For a 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword TenGigabitEthernet followed by the slot/port information. The information (Figure 15-24) displays in a continuous run, refreshing every 2 seconds by default.
