ENGLISH Basic Operation Room EQ setting 2 Operate the Room EQ from the remote control unit 1 Press the SURROUND PARAMETER button. • The surround parameter screen appears. 2 Press the CURSOR D or H button to select "Room EQ". 3 Press the CURSOR F or G button to select the equalizer setting. OFF Normal Manual Flat Front 4 Press the ENTER button to finish surround parameter mode. 2 Operate the Room EQ from the main unit 1 Press the SURROUND PARAMETER button. • The surround parameter screen is appears. 2 Press the SURROUND PARAMETER button to select "Room EQ". 3 Turn the SELECT knob to select the equalizer setting. • When making parameter settings, the display will return to the regular condition several seconds after the last button was pressed and the setting will be completed. 2 Surround parameters r Basic Operation ROOM SIZE: This sets the size of the sound field. There are five settings: "small", "med.s" (medium-small), "medium", "med.l" (medium-large) and "large". "small" recreates a small sound field, "large" a large sound field. EFFECT LEVEL: This sets the strength of the surround effect. The level can be set in 15 steps from 1 to 15. Lower the level if the sound seems distorted. DELAY TIME: The delay time can be set within the range of 0 to 110 ms only in the matrix mode. TONE CONTROL: This can be set individually for each surround mode except PURE DIRECT and DIRECT. ROOM EQ: This sets the frequency response of each speaker. • OFF: The Equalizer is not used. • Normal: Adjust the frequency response of all speaker suitable for general surround system. • Flat: Adjust the frequency response of all speakers flat. • Front: Adjusts the characteristics of each speaker to the characteristics of the front speakers. • Manual: Selects the setting value that was set in the Manual EQ setup. • The equalizer setting of Normal, Flat, and Front can be selected after performing the Auto Setup. • When headphone is connected, the Room EQ cannot be used. 28 ENGLISH

Surround parameters

ROOM SIZE:
This sets the size of the sound field.
There are five settings:
small

(medium-large) and

This sets the strength of the surround effect.
