B Installing Memory Installing Additional Memory If your printer has the HP PCL 5C/Postscript 3 emulation card installed, you may install up to 128 MB of additional memory which is available for purchase as an accessory (part number C2388A). The HP PCL 5C/Postscript 3 emulation card comes with the HP Business Inkjet 2280 printer. It can also be purchased as an accessory (part number C8229A, C8229C). The card can be installed in the EIO slot on either side of the printer. 1 Put on an anti-static wrist strap and clip the other end to a grounded metal piece. 2 Switch OFF your printer and remove all cables from the printer. 3 Loosen the two screws on the HP PCL 5C/Postscript 3 emulation card and remove it from the EIO slot (the card may be installed in either side of the printer). 4 Insert the SIMM into the memory module slot on the card. 5 Replace the HP PCL 5C/Postscript 3 emulation card into the EIO slot and fasten the screws. 6 Reconnect all cables to the printer and turn ON the printer.
