Fan Description Fan Spare part number 443917-001 Before removing the fan, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 48). 5. Release the keyboard (see Keyboard on page 64). 6. Remove the switch cover (see Switch cover on page 70). Remove the fan: 1. Disconnect the fan cable (1) from the system board. NOTE: The illustration below shows the fan removal steps for the HP Compaq 6715 computer model. The fan cable on the HP Compaq 6710 computer model is in a different location, but the disconnection steps are the same. 2. Loosen the Phillips PM2.5×8.0 captive screw (2) that secures the fan to the computer. 3. Remove the Phillips PM2.5×8.0 screw (3) that secures the fan to the computer. 4. Remove the fan (4). Remove the fan:
1.
Disconnect the fan cable
