Network Time Protocol Considerations for BC2000 and BC2500 blade PCs By default, the BC2000 series blade PC synchronizes its internal time clock with the Integrated Administrator on every power cycle. If preferred, this new feature can be turned off in the blade BIOS through F10 Setup. To prevent possible problems resulting from system time being out of sync with actual time, it is important to make sure that the Integrated Administrator is configured with the correct time. Additionally, it is highly recommended that the Integrated Administrator be configured to keep its time synchronized with actual time by configuring the Network Time Protocol. More detailed information and alternative ways of configuring NTP can be found in the HP BladeSystem PC Blade Enclosure Integrated Administrator for HP RCS guide. By default, the Integrated Administrator is configured to look for Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers using DHCP. Configure the DHCP server for option 042 to automatically assign one or more NTP servers. For any NTP servers located on a different IP subnet, be sure to include a functional default gateway address. If automatic configuration through DHCP is not preferred, then these settings can be assigned statically through either the CLI or web interface of the Integrated Administrator. NOTE: This feature can be controlled in F10 Setup-click Advanced (for advanced users) > Device Options > Synchronize Time with Enclosure and select enable or disable. Network Time Protocol Considerations for BC2000 and
BC2500 blade PCs
By default, the BC2000 series blade PC synchronizes its internal time clock with the Integrated

To prevent possible problems resulting from system time being out of sync with actual time, it is important
to make sure that the Integrated Administrator is configured with the correct time. Additionally, it is highly
recommended that the Integrated Administrator be configured to keep its time synchronized with actual
time by configuring the Network Time Protocol. More detailed information and alternative ways of
configuring NTP can be found in the

By default, the Integrated Administrator is configured to look for Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers
using DHCP. Configure the DHCP server for option 042 to automatically assign one or more NTP

gateway address. If automatic configuration through DHCP is not preferred, then these settings can be
assigned statically through either the CLI or web interface of the Integrated Administrator.
