Installing Additional Memory The blade PCs support the following memory features: ● Unbuffered SODIMM DDR-2 667 (PC5300) memory For more information, refer to QuickSpecs located on the HP Web site: http://www.hp.com. ● 1-GB system memory expandable to 4-GB ● Two SODIMM slots To install SODIMMs on a blade PC: 1. Power down the blade PC. See the Powering Down a Blade PC on page 28 section in this chapter. 2. Remove the blade PC from the enclosure. See the Removing a Blade PC on page 29 section in this chapter. 3. Place the blade PC on a level, nonconductive surface. 4. Locate the SODIMM socket keys on the blade PC: ● SODIMM socket 1 keys (1) ● SODIMM socket 2 keys (2) NOTE: SODIMMs are installed inverted from one another. If the labels on SODIMM 1 are faceup, the labels on SODIMM 2 are probably face-down. NOTE: Step 5 applies only when you wish to upgrade SODIMMs. 5. Remove the existing SODIMM: a. Installing Additional Memory
The blade PCs support the following memory features:

To install SODIMMs on a blade PC:
1.
Power down the blade PC. See the

2.
Remove the blade PC from the enclosure. See the

this chapter.
3.
Place the blade PC on a level, nonconductive surface.
4.
Locate the SODIMM socket keys on the blade PC:

SODIMM socket 1 keys (1)
●
SODIMM socket 2 keys (2)
NOTE:
SODIMMs are installed inverted from one another. If the labels on SODIMM 1 are face-
up, the labels on SODIMM 2 are probably face-down.
NOTE:
Step 5 applies only when you wish to upgrade SODIMMs.
5.
Remove the existing SODIMM:
a.
Release the latches on each side of the SODIMM slot 1 (1).
