Power button board Description Power button board (includes cable) Spare part number 718436-001 Before removing the power button board, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 30) and then remove the following components: a. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 31) b. Memory module service cover (see Memory module on page 36) c. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 38) d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 42) e. Top cover (see Top cover on page 45) Remove the power button board: 1. Detach the power button board cable (1) from the top cover. (The power button board cable is attached to the top cover with double-sided tape.) 2.
