The warranty and performance specifications contained in this manual are based on the use of deep cycle gel cell batteries. Invacare strongly recommends their use as the power source for this unit. Carefully read battery/battery charger information prior to installing, servicing or operating your wheelchair. 1. Position battery on ground/flat surface as shown below. 2. Visually inspect the battery to ensure proper polarity: FOR WHEELCHAIRS USING GP24 BATTERIES 7 Controls System Batteries with terminal configuration (POSITIVE A on the right and NEGATIVE Bon the left) as shown below MUST be used. Batteries that have the reverse terminal configuration MUST not be used - otherwise injury and damage may occur. DO NOT USE THIS TYPE OF PROPER BATTERIES TO USE BATTERY 7.4.7 Instructions on Using the Batteries CAUTION! Risk of Damage Draining your batteries to extremely low levels of charge can cause battery damage.
