▶ MEMORY-Z Press to enter the sub-menu. MS-7680 ▶ DIMM1~2 Memory SPD Press to enter the sub-menu. The sub-menu displays the informations of installed memory. ▶ X.M.P Support Information Press to enter the sub-menu. These items display the current status of the X.M.P support information. Read only. ▶ CPU Feature Press to enter the sub-menu and the following screen appears: Chapter 3 ▶ Active Processor Cores This item allows you to select the number of active processor cores. ▶ Limit CPUID Maximum It is designed to limit the listed speed of the processor to older operating systems. ▶ Execute Disable Bit Intel's Execute Disable Bit functionality can prevent certain classes of malicious "buffer overflow" attacks when combined with a supporting operating system. This functionality allows the processor to classify areas in memory by where application code can execute and where it cannot. When a malicious worm attempts to insert code in the buffer, the processor disables code execution, preventing damage or worm propagation. ▶ Intel Virtualization Tech This item is used to enable/disable the Intel Virtualization technology. For further information please refer to Intel's official website. ▶ Power Technology This item allows you to select the Intel Dynamic Power technology mode. ▶ C1E Support To enable this item to read the CPU power consumption while idle. Not all processors support Enhanced Halt state (C1E). 3-11

Chapter 3
MEMORY-Z
Press <Enter> to enter the sub-menu.
DIMM1~2 Memory SPD
Press <Enter> to enter the sub-menu. The sub-menu d±splays the ±nformat±ons of
±nstalled memory.
X.M.P Support Informat±on
Press <Enter> to enter the sub-menu. These ±tems d±splay the current status of the
X.M.P support ±nformat±on. Read only.
CPU Feature
Press <Enter> to enter the sub-menu and the follow±ng screen appears:
Act±ve Processor Cores
Th±s ±tem allows you to select the number of act±ve processor cores.
L±m±t CPUID Max±mum
It ±s des±gned to l±m±t the l±sted speed of the processor to older operat±ng systems.
Execute D±sable B±t
Intel’s Execute D±sable B±t funct±onal±ty can prevent certa±n classes of mal±c±ous
“buffer overflow” attacks when comb±ned w±th a support±ng operat±ng system. Th±s
funct±onal±ty allows the processor to class±fy areas ±n memory by where appl±cat±on
code can execute and where ±t cannot. When a mal±c±ous worm attempts to ±nsert
code ±n the buffer, the processor d±sables code execut±on, prevent±ng damage or
worm propagat±on.
Intel V±rtual±zat±on Tech
Th±s ±tem ±s used to enable/d±sable the Intel V±rtual±zat±on technology. For further
±nformat±on please refer to Intel’s offic±al webs±te.
Power Technology
Th±s ±tem allows you to select the Intel Dynam±c Power technology mode.
C1E Support
To enable th±s ±tem to read the CPU power consumpt±on wh±le ±dle. Not all processors
support Enhanced Halt state (C1E).
