About alerts Application Wants to Access the Internet alert If you selected Standard or Tight security in the Security Settings options, Personal Firewall displays an alert (Figure 3-5) when it detects Internet or network connections for new or modified applications. Figure 3-5. Application Wants to Access the Internet alert If an alert appears recommending caution in allowing the application Internet access, you can click Click here to learn more to get more information about the application. This option appears on the alert only if Personal Firewall is configured to use Smart Recommendations. McAfee might not recognize the application trying to gain Internet access (Figure 3-6).
