GS700AT Smart Switch Software Administration Manual To configure CST on the device: 1. Click Switching > STP > Advanced > CST Configuration. The CST Configuration screen displays: Figure 4-22 The CST Configuration screen contains the following fields: CST Configuration • Bridge Priority - Enter the bridge priority value. When switches or bridges are running STP, each is assigned a priority. After exchanging BPDUs, the device with the lowest priority value becomes the Root Bridge. The default value is 32768. The bridge priority value is provided in increments of 4096. • Hello Time - Enter the device Hello Time. The Hello Time indicates the amount of time in seconds a Root Bridge waits between configuration messages. The default is 2 seconds. • Max Age - Enter the device Maximum Age Time. The Maximum Age Time is the amount of time in seconds a bridge waits before sending configuration messages. The default Maximum Age Time is 20 seconds. • Forward Delay - Enter the device Forward Delay Time. The Forward Delay Time is the amount of time in seconds a bridge remains in a listening and learning state before forwarding packets. The default is 15 seconds.
