Setting the Printhead Gap General Information The printhead gap is the distance between the printhead and the platen. Your printer comes from the factory set to automatically detect the printhead gap (Auto Gap selected) for the media being fed in. Certain media, especially media with uneven thickness, may not work well with the Auto Gap feature and could produce unsatisfactory print results. To correct for this, change from Auto Gap to a manually set gap. You may need to experiment a bit to determine the best manual setting for a particular media. Setting the Printhead Gap
General Information
The printhead gap is the distance between the printhead and the
platen.
Your printer comes from the factory set to automatically detect the
printhead gap (Auto Gap selected) for the media being fed in. Certain
media, especially media with uneven thickness, may not work well
with the Auto Gap feature and could produce unsatisfactory print
results.
To correct for this, change from Auto Gap to a manually set gap. You
may need to experiment a bit to determine the best manual setting
for a particular media.
Note
Because their thickness varies, envelopes do not work with
Auto Gap.
