Warning When the batteries are inserted for the first time, the unit will not be able to start normally due to the low battery. You must charge the batteries on the base station before you can use the handset. 7.3.1 Install battery Warning Always use AAA rechargeable batteries supplied with your unit. If alkaline batteries are used instead of rechargeable batteries, "Warning Batt" will show on the display and the battery icon will blink quickly. 1 Slide out the battery cover. 7.3.2 Charge battery Warning The handset must be charged for at least 24 hours before using it for the first time. When the battery level becomes low, the low battery sensor warns you by blinking the battery icon. If this occurs during a conversation, an alert tone sounds to inform you that the battery is low.
