Option Select Forma Language Power Save Wakeup Event Auto Continue Altitude Adjustment Auto CR Job Timeout Maintenance Description Form overlay is images stored in the printer hard disk drive (HDD) as a special file format that can be printed in layers on any document. (See "Form file" on page 89.) • Select Form is not displayed when Form Menu is set as Off. • 2nd Form is displayed when Form Menu is set as Double Form. Allows you to change the language that appears on the display. (See "Changing the display language" on page 40.) Reduce energy consumption by setting power saving features. (See "Using power saving feature" on page 41.) You can set the condition to wake up from power-save mode. Set the item on. • Button Press: When you press power button, the machine wake up from the power save mode. • Printer: When you open or close the paper tray, the machine wake up from the power save mode. This item determines whether or not the machine continues printing when it detects paper that is not matched to your paper setting. • Off: If a paper mismatch occurs, the message remains on the display and the machine remains off-line until you insert the correct paper. • On: If the paper is mismatched, an error message displays. The machine goes off-line for 30 seconds then automatically clears the message and continues printing. Print quality is affected by atmospheric pressure. The atmospheric pressure is determined by the height of the machine above sea level. This feature lets you adjust the altitude in a height district. The higher the altitude, the higher the adjustment, the highest being High 3. (See "Altitude adjustment" on page 40.) This option allows you to append the required carriage return to each line feed, which is useful to the Unix user or DOS user. You can set the amount of time a single print job is active before it must print. The machine handles incoming data as a single job, if it comes in within the specified time. When an error occurs while processing data from the computer and the data flow stops, the machine waits the specified amount of time and then cancels printing if data flow does not resume. This menu allows you to maintain consumables within the machine and check supplies' life. You can clean fuser components. Option Description Clear Settings Spoolinga This menu item allows you to restore the printer's factory default settings. To spool documents in HDD for the network printing, select On. a. This menu item is available when the optional hard disk is installed. Emulation Option Emulation Type Setup Description The machine language defines how the computer communicates with the machine. If you select Auto, your machine can change the machine language automatically. You can set the detailed settings for the emulation type you selected. Color Option Custom Color Auto Color Reg. Density Calibration Density Control Description This menu allows you to adjust contrast, color by color. • Default: Optimizes colors automatically. • Manual Adjust: Allows you to manually adjust the color contrast for each cartridge. It is recommended to use the Default setting for best color quality. You can adjust the position of color texts or graphics to match the position of the printed colors to those on your screen. If you have moved the machine, it is strongly recommended to operate this menu manually. You can manually calibrate the toner density of machine for the best possible color print quality. The machine automatically calibrates the toner density of machine for the best possible color print quality. If you select Off, the machine is calibrated by the factory default toner density.
