Beaming between your CLIÉ handheld and another Palm OS® PDA Beaming information You can beam the data on your CLIÉ handheld to another Palm OS PDA device that has an IR port. 1 Select the data, category, or business card you want to beam. 2 Tap (Menu). The menu is displayed. 3 Tap one of the following: • The Beam command for an individual record • In Address only: Beam Business Card • Beam Category Tip You can also perform [Beam Business Card] by pressing (the Address Book button) for about 2 seconds. 4 When the Beam dialog box is displayed, point the IR port of your CLIÉ handheld directly to the IR port of another Palm OS PDA device. The Beam dialog box shows that the transfer is complete. Location of the IR port may vary depending on your model. Tip For best performance of the data exchange, keep 4 to 8 inches (approximately 10 to 20 centimeters) between your CLIÉ handheld and the other Palm OS PDA device. Do not place any obstacle between the devices. The optimum distance for beaming may vary depending on devices. Beaming Continued on next page 152
