2-Names and Functions of Parts 6 Power supply status When the unit is being operated on battery power, a battery ( ) icon is shown. The amount of remaining battery charge is shown by the number of bars in the icon ( , , ). When almost no battery charge is remaining, the empty battery ( ) icon blinks. When this happens, the unit will soon switch to standby. When using a TASCAM PS-P520 AC adaptor (sold separately) or USB bus power, the AC ( ) icon is shown. NOTE Even when some battery charge is remaining, a "Battery Low" pop-up message might appear if you try to start recording or another operation that requires a lot of power. 7 Recorder operation status Depending on the recorder operation status, one of the following icons appears. Stopped Paused Playing back Searching forward Searching backward Skipping to the beginning of the next file Skipping to the beginning of the previous file 32 TASCAM GB-10 8 Playback position This bar shows the current playback position. As playback proceeds, the darkened bar extends from the left. 9 Playback interval This shows the loop playback IN point (starting point) and OUT point (ending point) settings. When a starting point is set, the " " icon appears at the corresponding position beneath the playback position bar. When an ending point is set, the " " icon appears at the corresponding position beneath the playback position bar. 0 File information This shows the name of the file being played back. If an MP3 file has ID3 tag information, that information is shown instead. NOTE ID3 tag information is title and artist name information that can be stored in an MP3 file. q Playback area This shows the currently selected playback area. ALL All files in the MUSIC folder FOLDER All files in the selected folder P.LIST All files added to the playlist

Power supply status
When the unit is being operated on battery power, a
battery (
) icon is shown.
The amount of remaining battery charge is shown by the

Recorder operation status
Depending on the recorder operation status, one of the
following icons appears.

Playback position
This bar shows the current playback position. As playback
proceeds, the darkened bar extends from the left.

Playback interval
This shows the loop playback IN point (starting point) and
OUT point (ending point) settings.
When a starting point is set, the “
” icon appears at the
corresponding position beneath the playback position bar.
When an ending point is set, the “
” icon appears at the
corresponding position beneath the playback position bar.

File information
This shows the name of the file being played back. If an
MP3 file has ID3 tag information, that information is shown
instead.
NOTE
ID3 tag information is title and artist name information that
can be stored in an MP3 file.
