5-Recording 4. Use the VALUE (+/-) buttons to set it to "ON". 5. Press the §/BROWSE or ¶/ button to select the "START LEVEL" item. 6. Use the VALUE (+/-) buttons to set the input signal detection level to "-6dB", "-12dB" (default value), "-24dB" or "-48dB". 7. After completing the setting, press the HOME button to return to the Home Screen. 8. Press the RECORD [º] button to start recording standby and RECORD [º] button indicator blinks. Press and hold the RECORD [º] button to enable the prerecord function and put the unit into recording standby. Recording starts automatically when the input signal level exceeds the detection level set using the "START LEVEL" item. Recording stops automatically and the unit returns to recording standby when the input signal level stays below the detection level set using the "START LEVEL" item for five or more seconds and RECORD [º] indicator blinks. TIP Use this function in combination with the pre-recording function to record without missing the beginning of a performance. NOTE When "AUTO REC" is ON, unlike usual, pressing the RECORD [º] button briefly does not start recording, but does put the unit into recording standby. 9. You can press the [ª] button if you want to stop a recording that has started automatically. CAUTION When overdubbing, the auto-recording function cannot be used. TASCAM GB-10 49
