CAUTION When formatting a card, use a TASCAM PS-P520 AC adapter (sold separately), USB bus power or confirm that the batteries are sufficiently charged. If the power fails during formatting, the formatting might not occur correctly. Changing the file name prefix You can change the prefix for names given to files recorded by this unit. 1. Press the MENU button to open the MENUscreen. 2. Use the §/BROWSE and ¶/ buttons to select the "FILE NAME" menu item, and press the Á button or ¯ button to open the "FILE NAME" screen. Use this to set the six characters that are used as a prefix in the names of new recordings. Example: GB0000_XXXX.wav Use the  button or ¯ button to move the cursor, and use the VALUE (+/-) buttons to set the characters. After completing the setting, press the HOME button to return to the Home Screen. ” screen.
Use this to set the six characters that are used as a prefix in the
names of new recordings.
Example:
GB0000_XXXX.wav

(+/–) buttons to set the characters.
After completing the setting, press the
HOME
button to
return to the Home Screen.
NOTE
In addition to the alphabet and numbers, the following
characters can be used: ! # $ % & ’ ( ) + , - . ; = @ [ ] ^ _ ` { } ~
The default name prefix is “
GB0000
”.
