DHCP Server Commands DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a network configuration protocol for hosts on TCP/IP networks, and it provides a framework for distributing configuration information to hosts. DHCP server assigns IP addresses from specified address pools on a switch or router to DHCP clients and manages them. 31.1 service dhcp server Description The service dhcp server command is used to enable DHCP service globally. To disable DHCP server service, please use no service dhcp server command. If the APs in the local network request this option, the server will inform the APs of the AC's IP address by sending a packet containing this option.
