Basic Operation Recording Your Performances Recording a Performance You can record your own drum performances using the DTX700's built-in recorder. To do so, proceed as follows. 1 Press the [REC] button. The button will light in red. Deleting a Recorded Performance 1 Press the [REC] button. The button will light in red. 2 Press the [>/] button to start recording. The [>/] button will flash on and off in blue. 2 Press the [>/] button. The [>/] button will flash on and off in blue. 3 When you have finished playing, press the [>/] button once again. The [REC] button and the [>/] button will both turn off. NOTE • The built-in recorder does not store your performances as audio files. • Recording cannot be started while the DTX700 is importing an audio file or exchanging audio data with a USB memory device. Accordingly, the [REC] button will not light up at this time. • Once you have recorded a performance, any subsequent recording will result in the first one being overwritten. 3 Press the [>/] button once again. The [REC] button and the [>/] button will both turn off. Playing a Recorded Performance 1 Press the [>/] button. 2 To stop playback, press the [>/] button once again. NOTE • You cannot record audio data from the [AUX IN] port on your DTX700. • If you start playback of recorded data while playing a song, the song will stop playing. Similarly, if you start playback of a song while playing recorded data, the playback of recorded data will stop. 48 DTX700 Owner's Manual
