Playing with Rhythm and Auto Accompaniment (Styles) This instrument is equipped with rhythms and accompaniment patterns in a variety of genres, called Styles. You can use the Auto Accompaniment (ACMP) function for a Style to play the appropriate accompaniment simply by playing chords with your left hand. This allows you to enjoy being accompanied by a band or orchestra, even when you are playing alone. Playing with Styles 1 Press the [STYLE] button. The Style number and name will be shown. Style name Appears when the Style selection display is selected. 00180sGtPop Style number 2 Press the category buttons or rotate the dial to select the desired Style. For details about Style numbers and names, refer to the Data List on the website (page 11). 3 Press the [ACMP ON/OFF] button to turn on the Auto Accompaniment (ACMP). 4 Press the [SYNC START] button to turn Sync Start on. 143EuTrance Flashes when Sync Start is on. The Style playback is set to standby, and the Style starts playing back when you play a chord. 5 Play a chord in the Auto Accompaniment area to start playback of the Style. Play a melody with the right hand and chords with the left hand. Split Point 00180sGtPop Appears when the Auto Accompaniment is on. The area of the keyboard to the left of the Split Point becomes the "Auto Accompaniment area" and is used only for specifying the chords. Split Point ... default value: 054 (F#2) For details about playing chords, refer to the Reference Manual on the website (page 11). NOTE Instead of playing chords normally, you can also use Smart Chord to play chords with one finger. However, when Split is on, you will hear the Split Voice. Playing Back Only the Rhythm Part In Step 3, if you press the [START/STOP] button without pressing the [ACMP ON/OFF] button, only the rhythm part will play back. NOTE For Styles that do not have any rhythm data, there will be no sound when you try to play back only the rhythm part. This instrument is equipped with rhythms and accompaniment patterns in a variety of
genres, called Styles. You can use the Auto Accompaniment (ACMP) function for a Style to
play the appropriate accompaniment simply by playing chords with your left hand. This
allows you to enjoy being accompanied by a band or orchestra, even when you are playing
alone.

Press the [STYLE] button.
The Style number and name will be shown.

dial to select the desired Style.

Press the [ACMP ON/OFF] button to turn
on the Auto Accompaniment (ACMP).
The area of the keyboard to the left of the Split
Point becomes the “Auto Accompaniment area”
and is used only for specifying the chords.

The Style playback is set to standby, and the

Playing Back Only the Rhythm Part
In Step 3, if you press the
[START/STOP]
button
without pressing the
[ACMP ON/OFF]
button, only
the rhythm part will play back.
Playing with Styles
• The Split Point can be changed as desired (page 62).
• Even if you play in the Auto Accompaniment area (left-
hand area), the Main Voice and Dual Voice do not sound,
only the chords are recognized. However, when Split is
on, you will hear the Split Voice.
