Handy Performance Features Changing the Touch Response of the Keyboard The keyboard of this instrument is equipped with a Touch Response feature that lets you dynamically and expressively control the level of the Voices according to your playing strength. 1 Press the [FUNCTION] button. 2 Use the CATEGORY [] buttons to call up "TouchRes" (Function 010). After a few seconds, the current Touch Response appears. TouchRes 010 Medium 2 010 Current Touch Response 3 Use the dial to select a Touch Response setting between 1 and 4. Touch Response 1 Soft Allows maximum loudness to be produced with relatively light key pressure. 2 Medium Produces a fairly "standard" keyboard response. 3 Hard Requires strong playing to produce high volume. 4 Fixed All notes are produced at the same volume no matter how hard the keyboard is played. Selecting an EQ Setting for the Best Sound Six different master equalizer (EQ) settings give you the best possible sound when listening through different reproduction systems-the instrument's internal speakers, headphones, or an external speaker system. 1 Hold down the [MELODY SUPPRESSOR] button for longer than a second to call up "Master EQ" (Function 038). After a few seconds, the current Master EQ type appears. MasterEQ 038 Hold for longer than a second. Speaker 1 038 Current Master EQ type 2 Rotate the dial to select the desired Master EQ type. Master EQ types 1 Speaker Optimum for listening via the instrument's built-in speakers. 2 Headphone Optimum for headphones, or for listening via external speakers. 3 Boost Results in more powerful sound. Depending on the selected Voice and Style, etc., the sound may be more subject to distortion than other EQ types. 4 Piano Optimum for piano solo performance. 5 Bright Lowers the mid range for a brighter sound. 6 Mild Lowers the high range for a softer sound.
