HDMI Setting the HDMI parameters Basic HDMI operations ■ Assigning HDMI components You can assign an HDMI component to the HDMI IN 1 or HDMI IN 2 jack on the rear panel of this unit so that the audio and video signals input via HDMI connection can be simultaneously played back. Use the HDMI IN parameter in INPUT MENU to assign HDMI components (see page 83). ■ Converting analog video signals to HDMI This unit is equipped with the HDMI interlace/progressive up-conversion feature where the analog video signals input at the composite video, S-video and component video jacks on the rear panel of this unit are digitally processed and up-converted so that they can be output at the HDMI OUT jack on the rear panel of this unit with alldigital resolution quality. Use the HDMI I/P parameter in OPTION MENU to convert analog component video signals to HDMI (see page 86). Note When the analog video signals with 1080i or 720p of resolution are up-converted to HDMI and output at the HDMI OUT jack, the picture quality may worsen. ■ Setting the HDMI support audio You can choose to play back HDMI audio signals on this unit or on another HDMI component connected to the HDMI OUT jack on the rear panel of this unit. Use the HDMI SET parameter in SOUND MENU to set the HDMI support audio (see page 82). Perform the following steps to listen to playback from an HDMI component. Note If an error message appears in the front panel display, see page 116 for a complete list of error messages and proper remedies. 1 Rotate the INPUT selector on the front panel (or press one of the input selector buttons on the remote control) to select the input source assigned to the HDMI IN 1 or HDMI IN 2 jack on the rear panel of this unit. Assigning HDMI components
You can assign an HDMI component to the HDMI IN 1 or
HDMI IN 2 jack on the rear panel of this unit so that the
audio and video signals input via HDMI connection can
be simultaneously played back.
Use the HDMI IN parameter in INPUT MENU to assign
HDMI components (see page 83).
Converting analog video signals to
HDMI
This unit is equipped with the HDMI interlace/progressive
up-conversion feature where the analog video signals
input at the composite video, S-video and component
video jacks on the rear panel of this unit are digitally
processed and up-converted so that they can be output at
the HDMI OUT jack on the rear panel of this unit with all-
digital resolution quality.
Use the HDMI I/P parameter in OPTION MENU to
convert analog component video signals to HDMI
(see page 86).
When the analog video signals with 1080i or 720p of resolution
are up-converted to HDMI and output at the HDMI OUT jack, the
picture quality may worsen.
Setting the HDMI support audio
You can choose to play back HDMI audio signals on this
unit or on another HDMI component connected to the
HDMI OUT jack on the rear panel of this unit.
Use the HDMI SET parameter in SOUND MENU to set
