YES Initializing the Disc You need to initialize all new discs when you first insert them to the camcorder ( 32). When you are using a DVD-RW disc, you may need to initialize it if you get the message "UNABLE TO RECOGNIZE THE RECORDING MODE OF THE DISC". You can also initialize a DVD-RW disc when you want to completely erase the disc to reuse it, or in order to change the video quality (HD/SD) or the disc specification (VIDEO/VR mode). Initializing the Disc
You need to initialize all new discs when
you first insert them to the camcorder
(
32). When you are using a DVD-RW
disc, you may need to initialize it if you
get the message “UNABLE TO
RECOGNIZE THE RECORDING MODE
OF THE DISC”. You can also initialize a
DVD-RW disc when you want to
completely erase the disc to reuse it, or
in order to change the video quality
(HD/SD) or the disc specification
(VIDEO/VR mode).
