3 Recording 37 Recording Video and Taking Photos This section explains the recording basics. Before you begin recording clips*, make a test recording first to check if the camcorder operates correctly. Record a 4K clip (on the CFast card) at 305 Mbps (frame rate of 29.97P or 23.98P) for approximately 5 minutes and an HD clip (on the SD card) at 50 Mbps (frame rate of 59.94P) for approximately 15 minutes. Should the camcorder fail to operate correctly, refer to Troubleshooting (A 140). For details on recording audio, refer to Recording Audio (A 78). * "Clip" refers to a single movie unit recorded with a single recording operation. Preparing to Record 1 Remove the lens cap. 2 Attach the lens hood (A 21) and, if necessary, attach the viewfinder unit (A 21). 3 Attach a charged battery pack to the camcorder (A 18). 4 Insert recording media as necessary (A 31, 33). • Insert a CFast card to record 4K clips; insert an SD card to record HD clips and photos. 5 Adjust the viewfinder unit, if necessary (A 22).
