Installation and Configuration 5-23 To set port topologies and Arbitrated Loop Physical Address (ALPA) settings for both array controllers, perform these steps: NOTE: Refer to the Compaq StorageWorks documentation for more detailed information about changing the port topology settings. 1. Click on the Windows taskbar Start button. 2. Select Program, Command Console, CLI Window. 3. Click on the CLI window to display the Connection Selection dialog box. 4. Select Serial and click OK to display the Connect Serial dialog box. 5. Select the COM port to which the top array controller is connected. 6. Select a baud rate of 9600. 7. Click Connect to display the CLI window. 8. Press Enter to initialize communications. 9. Repeat steps 1 through 8 for the other COM port and the bottom array controller connection. 10. From the CLI window type the following and press Enter: set this node_id=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx xx (xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx is the bar-coded World Wide ID located in the controller enclosure. The final xx is the two-digit checksum on the same label.) NOTE: The "other" controller will shut down and must be manually restarted by momentarily pressing the reset button on the controller's front panel. Wait for two minutes for the controller to boot before proceeding. 11. Configure both array controllers for multibus failover mode. a. Type the following command and press Enter: set nofailover b.
