Verify that the above changes were made by entering the following command: show units full 4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for each storage subsystem in the PDC/O5000. You have completed the software configuration required to support your Secure Path environment. Now you are ready to monitor and manage Secure Path activity using the Secure Path Manager. Powering Up All Other Fibre Channel SAN Switches or Storage Hubs After installing the Secure Path software, power up all powered-off Fibre Channel SAN Switches or Storage Hubs and restart all nodes in the cluster. Creating Partitions Using Disk Management, you must create one extended partition on each logical drive you created previously in the "Configuring a Storageset" section of this chapter. In the Disk Management, logical drives appear as Disk 0, Disk 1, and so on. Subdivide the extended partition into logical partitions. The first logical partition is a small fraction of the extended partition and is used by Secure Path software to identify the logical drive as an Oracle Parallel Server shared database resource. Other logical partitions contain the rest of the extended partition capacity and are used for Oracle8i Parallel Server shared database resources. One logical partition is required for each Oracle Parallel Server shared database resource. See the Oracle8i Parallel Server Setup and Configuration Guide for information on Oracle8i Parallel Server database guidelines and requirements for subdividing the large extended partitions into logical partitions. To create partitions on a logical drive: 1. Run Disk Management from one node. 2. Create a large extended partition using all of the logical drive space.
