4-2 Getting Acquainted with Your Keyboard Before you begin using your computer, you should become familiar with some keyboard functions. Your keyboard is divided into six sections. Refer to the previous page for the layout. The following gives an explanation of these keys. Function Keys These are located on the left or at the top of the keyboard. Function keys have specially defined uses preassigned by the software you use. They are used independently or in combination with other keys. Figure 4-2: Function Keys Numeric Keypad This is located on the right of the keyboard. At the center of the keypad are nine numeric keys. These keys are used to move the cursor as well as to enter numbers when either the Caps Lock key or Num Lock key is pressed. explanation of these keys.
Function Keys
These are located on the left or at the top of the keyboard. Function
