Determining whether a component is hot-pluggable, Table 3 Component hot-pluggability

Page 69 highlights

Determining whether a component is hot-pluggable Before removing any serviceable part, determine whether the part is hot-pluggable or non-hot-pluggable. • If the component is hot-pluggable, a power shutdown of the device is not required for replacement of the part. • If the component is not hot-pluggable, the device must be powered down. CAUTION: Be sure the replacement is available before removing a component or blanking panel from the chassis. Open slots dramatically impact airflow and cooling within the enclosure. Determining whether a component is hot-pluggable
Before removing any serviceable part, determine whether the part is hot-pluggable or non-hot-pluggable.
If the component is hot-pluggable, a power shutdown of the device is not required for replacement
of the part.
If the component is not hot-pluggable, the device must be powered down.
CAUTION:
Be sure the replacement is available before removing a component or blanking panel from the chassis.
Open slots dramatically impact air
ow and cooling within the enclosure.
