Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the display panel (see Display panel on page 25). 5. Remove the webcam (see Webcam on page 36). 6. Remove the leather cover (see Leather cover on page 41). When replacing the system board, be sure to remove the heat sink (see Heat sink on page 63) from the defective system board and install it on the replacement system board. Remove the system board: 1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the keyboard cable is connected, and then disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board. Component replacement procedures 61
