"Recommendations for cable management" on page 227 Installing the FR4-18i blade in the Director To install the FR4-18i blade: 1. Select an empty slot in the Director. 2. Make sure the latches on the FR4-18i blade are unscrewed and open. 3. Slide the FR4-18i blade into the open slot. 4. Close and screw the latches and power on the blade using the ON/OFF slider switch (see Figure 74). The FR4-18i blade begins POST. After POST is complete, the firmware version on the blade will autolevel with the firmware version on the active CP. 5. Verify that the blade power and blade status LEDs are green after the blade has completed booting. NOTE: The FC ports are numbered from bottom to top, in eight-port groups, and are numbered on the faceplate. 224 Intelligent blades

Installing the FR4-18i blade in the Director
To install the FR4-18i blade:
1.
Select an empty slot in the Director.
2.
Make sure the latches on the FR4-18i blade are unscrewed and open.
3.
Slide the FR4-18i blade into the open slot.
4.
Close and screw the latches and power on the blade using the ON/OFF slider switch (see
Figure
74
). The FR4-18i blade begins POST. After POST is complete, the firmware version on the blade

5.
