For any change to an active zone set, even modifying members in a zone that belongs to a zone set, activate the zone set using steps in Task 3: Activate the Zone Set on page 75. Note It is not necessary to deactivate the active zone set before activating a new zone set. Activate/Deactivate Zone Sets To enable a zone set to control access between devices in a fabric, you must activate the zone set. Changing the configuration for an active zone set does not dynamically apply changes. Note It is not necessary to deactivate the active zone set before activating a new zone set. Activate Zone Set To activate a zone set, follow the steps in Task 3: Activate the Zone Set on page 75. Deactivate Zone Set When you deactivate the active zone set, all attached devices become members of the default zone. If the default zone is enabled, the devices can access and communicate with each other. If the default zone is not enabled, devices cannot access and communicate with each other. 1.
