The device will preserve the state of SMART (either enabled or disabled) across power cycles. Once enabled, the receipt of subsequent SMART Enable Operations commands shall not affect any of the attribute values. If the values in the Features, Cylinder Low, or Cylinder High registers are invalid, an Aborted command error is posted. Upon receipt of this command from the host, the device sets BSY, enables SMART capabilities and functions, clears BSY, and asserts INTRQ. 6.3.2.8.6 SMART Disable Operations [B0h, Sub D9h] Task File Registers Command Cylinder High Cylinder Low Device/Head Sector Number Sector Count Features DRV : Device selection bit 76543210 B0h C2h 4Fh - X - DRV XX XX XX D9h 0 : DRV0 1:DRV1 The SMART Disable Operations command disables all SMART capabilities within the device including any and all timer functions related exclusively to this feature.
