Installing a drive Depending on the server model, one or more of the following drives might be installed in the server: v Diskette v Hard disk drive v CD-ROM, CD-RW, or DVD/CD-RW combo For information on replacing a CD-ROM drive or diskette drive, see "Replacing the CD-ROM drive in bay 2" on page 35 and "Replacing the diskette drive in bay 3" on page 36. Some hot-swap models come with an IDE CD-ROM drive in bay 1, a 3.5-in., 1.44 MB diskette drive in bay 3, and three hot-swap hard disk drive bays. Some non-hot-swap models come with an IDE CD-ROM drive in bay 1, a 3.5-in., 1.44 MB diskette drive in bay 3, and a SCSI hard disk drive in bay 7. Some simple-swap Serial ATA models come with an IDE CD-ROM drive in bay 1, a 3.5-in., 1.44 MB diskette drive in bay 3, and a simple-swap Serial ATA hard disk drive in bay 7. Installing a drive
Depending on the server model, one or more of the following drives might be
installed in the server:

Diskette

Hard disk drive

CD-ROM, CD-RW, or DVD/CD-RW combo
For information on replacing a CD-ROM drive or diskette drive, see “Replacing the
CD-ROM drive in bay 2” on page 35 and “Replacing the diskette drive in bay 3” on
page 36.
Some hot-swap models come with an IDE CD-ROM drive in bay 1, a 3.5-in., 1.44
MB diskette drive in bay 3, and three hot-swap hard disk drive bays.
