Make sure the square of thermal material is still on the bottom of the heat sink; if not, replace the it with a new heat sink. b. Align and place the heat sink on top of the microprocessor. c. Align and push the heat-sink retainer through the groove in the center of the fan sink. d. Insert a small, flat-bladed screwdriver into the tab on the heat-sink retainer. e. Press the screwdriver down to snap the heat-sink retainer into place. f. Connect the heat-sink power cable to the microprocessor heat-sink connector (CPUFA1) on the system board. See "System board internal cable connectors" on page 40 for the location of the microprocessor heat-sink connector. 6. If you have other options to install or remove, do so now; otherwise, replace the cover. See "Installing the cover" on page 53 for instructions on installing the cover. 7. a.

Connect the heat-sink power cable to the microprocessor heat-sink
connector (CPUFA1) on the system board. See

If you have other options to install or remove, do so now; otherwise, replace
the cover. See
Installing the cover
on page 53 for instructions on installing the
cover.
7.
Reconnect the external cables and power cords; then, turn on the peripheral
devices and the server.
